As a member of JASRA (Jalur Selatan Radio Amatur) , i was asked to continue an old project to connect our local repeater through ROIP.

For this project, the raspberry pi 3 was selected for its small form factor and low power consumption. Since the pi doesn’t have mic input, a USB sound card is used. SVXLINK as the repeater software. A Baofeng UV5R since i got a lot laying around at the shack.

The challenge is on how to trigger the PTT of the radio. There are several ways that i come across such as through RS232, GPIO Pin or VOX.
